AERIAL ROBOTICS EVENTS
Work-Based Learning Field Days
For the past 3 years, Bill Swope of Halff Associates along with the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Gulf South has sponsored a work-based learning field day for students from throughout the region.
This year's event was held on April 23, 2025, at Alliance Aviation Services at Perot Field. Hillwood donated the hangar for the event. There were 100 students who attended from Azle ISD, Birdville ISD, Irving ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, Keller ISD, Mineral Wells ISD, and Strawn ISD. In addition to hearing from industry partners about the careers involving technology and drones used in the field, Christina Davis of Hillwood generously conducted tours of the facility and shared opportunities for roles in the operations and customer services of Alliance Aviation Services. Below are photos of the event and a Hillwood News Bulletin.
The past 2 years Work-Based Learning Field Days were held at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center on May 16, 2023, and May 8, 2024, in Fort Worth ISD. Each year, 100 students from districts that are part of the NCTX Aerial Robotics programs of study had the opportunity to see drone technology in operation with 13 industry and post-secondary partners in attendance.
